Antimicrobial Plant Resin for Pore Tightening

Mibelle Biochemistry has launched a pore minimizing active derived from an antimicrobial plant resin.

Pollution and Aging: Antioxidants for Skin

Cell membrane-derived lipidic hydroperoxides, introduced into the skin by environmental stresses, seem to be key players in oxidative stress-mediated extrinsic aging. Imidazole-containing peptidomimetics can protect against their toxicity through a variety of mechanisms.

Olive and Chinese Date for Anti-aging in Skin

Rahn targets the proteasome to prevent the first signs of aging in its latest active launch.

Artichoke Hair Protection

Provital S.A. sourced the leaves of an artichoke to create an active that protects hair from external aggressors.

Lightening and Illuminating Skin With Acetylated Hydroxystilbenes From Rheum rhaponticum

Skin discoloration and excessive pigmentation due to increased melanin production is associated with skin inflammation and aging. Therefore, an extract rich in acetylated hydroxystilbenes from Rheum rhaponticum was combined with panthenyl triacetate to test in the melanogenesis pathway. The complex strongly reduced melanogenesis and melanin accumulation in human skin explants, decreased melanin content in pigmented spots, increased skin brightness and enhanced skin radiance on the face of human volunteers in a double-blind clinical study.

Coffea bengalensis for Antiwrinkle and Skin Toning Applications

Coffea species have been widely evaluated for effects including oxidative stress protection and immunomodulation. The present study therefore evaluates the cosmetic activity of an extract obtained from cultured Coffea bengalensis stem cells. Results showed the extract imparted hydration activity in the keratinocytes, stimulated collagen synthesis in the fibroblasts and enhanced adipocyte differentiation starting from mesenchymal precursor cells.

Ingredient Profile—Ascorbic Acid

L-Ascorbic acid (AscA), more commonly referred to as vitamin C, is best known for its vital role in human health and nutrition, where it functions as a cofactor in enzymatic reactions, such as collagen synthesis, and as an antioxidant.

Pterostilbene Skin Lightener and Antioxidant

Sabinsa has introduced a skin care active based on pterostilbene that is said to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin-lightening properties.

Yellow Mustard Shoot Lip Plumping

Mibelle Biochemistry has introduced a lip-plumping active derived from yellow mustard shoots.

Cheek and Breast Volume-enhancing Peptide

Lipotec SA has introduced an active that aims to increase fatty tissue volume in areas such as breasts and cheeks.

Self-tanning Complex Without Odor

Soliance has launched a self-tanning complex that masks the odor associated with the Maillard reaction.
