Manilkara for Botanical Antiaging

Laboratoires Sérobiologiques, a division of Cognis France, presents its latest botanical antiaging actives, Elestan LS 9913 (INCI: Glycerin (and) Manilkara Leaf Extract (and) Water (aqua)) and Elestan PW LS 9879 (INCI: Manilkara Leaf Extract (and) Maltodextrin) for antiaging face and body care, elasticity promotion, and firming and anti-glycation benefits.

According to the company, the materials' anti-elastase properties fight against the degradation of the skin's elastic fiber network and stimulate the synthesis of elastin and associated proteins. In addition, the materials are designed to inhibit the rigidification of the skin's fibers caused by glycation.

In in vivo studies of 29 volunteers treated with the material for 56 days, tests combining skin deformation by airflow and a 3D fringe projection technique showed the materials to significantly improve skin firmness and tonicity over a placebo by 10% in volume depression, and 5% in maximal depth.
