A new cationic homopolymer-based technology was designed to provide long-lasting conditioning to damaged hair without product buildup. Its mechanism, in situ controlled flocculation, is described here, and its capability to restore hydrophobicity to damaged hair is shown. Techniques are detailed for measuring silicone deposition, conditioning performance, hydrophobicity and buildup on hair.

Here, theoretical aspects of skin protection and insights from perfluoropolyethers are discussed; concepts to push protectants to new efficacies will be covered in the final article of this series.

This paper describes the development of a stable moringa plant concentrate comprising the extraction and identification of stable actives, via plant metabolites, and the correlation of activity through a variety of in vitro models. The resulting concentrate demonstrated direct and indirect antioxidant benefits and inhibitory action against inflammation and UV-induced MMP-1.

The instrumental and sensorial studies described here assess the ability of a test moisturizing product, at 1% in a surfactant system, to physically improve skin moisturization and structural condition, as well as provide a consumer-perceivable sensorial benefit. Changes in skin protein content, visible skin dryness, trans-epidermal water loss, corneometry and sensorial characteristics were measured and analyzed.
