The Dutch cosmetics market grew 4% in 2006, according to a report by the Dutch Cosmetics Association (NCV). The association reported that the factors responsible for the 2006 growth were increased consumer confidence, an improved economy, a long and hot summer and the success of product introductions and product innovations.
Consumer spending for personal care in Holland totaled nearly 2.3 billion in 2006, according to the report. The segments of the Dutch personal care industry that saw the most growth in 2006 were deodorants (6%), fragrances (6%), oral care (7% and sun care products (13%).
