Title: Soil-derived Minerals for Nighttime Cell Renewal
  • Article

Shiseido brand Bare Escentuals has added a night serum to its BareMinerals line that is said to boost cell turnover and add antioxidant protection with a mineral-containing soil complex. Active Cell Renewal Night Serum contains the company's ActiveSoil Complex, a combination of macro and micro minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and zinc isolated from "virgin soil" and reduced into a golden powder. In addition to its cell turnover boost, the complex is said to have an antioxidant capacity greater than blueberries and pomegranates. It also reportedly acts as a delivery system to help other ingredients be more effective.

According to the company, human cells have a Clock gene that regulates cellular renewal, and these cells are said to be most active at night. In addition to the complex mentioned above, the serum also contains a blend of moisturizing ingredients.
