GeneLink BioSciences Inc. has launched HelixLife, a line including supplements, an antiaging serum, an anti-acne serum and energy chews. This line serves as the base from which products can be tailored to an individual's DNA. Also newly introduced, the company's DNA-customized line called Brilliant is based on a DNA assessment kit used by the consumer.
The company's DNA assessment kit includes a swab, which consumers use to collect DNA from the inside of their mouths. The swab is then dried and sent to the company's CLIA-certified lab where the 12 key indicators of the consumers' DNA are analyzed to generate a color-coded report of the single nucleotide polymorphisms, i.e. variations in DNA that may affect health and wellness. This report plots the individual's genetic makeup in green, yellow and red areas; green areas do not require additional support, yellow areas need additional support, and red areas require maximum support. The company then formulates the Brilliant Nutritional Supplements or the Brilliant Skin Serum based upon those results.
According to the company, its products are made from natural and organic ingredients. Glow Antiaging Skin Serum, the company's base antiaging product, contains nearly the same ingredients as the base ingredients of Brilliant Antiaging DNA Skin Serum, with the exception of vitamin C, potassium sorbate and fragrance (parfum). After the DNA assessment kit is obtained from consumers, the company adds some 22 custom ingredients to the base formulation.
