Protecting, Straightening and Setting Hair

BASF launched several ingredients at the recent FCE Cosmetique and Pharma 2012 events. For hair, Plantasil Relaxcare (INCI: Potassium Silicates (and) Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside (and) Glycerin) is designed for the ethnic hair care market, for consumers with curly hair seeking products that straighten hair while protecting and strengthening it. The product is easily incorporated into lye relaxer formulations and improves both the mechanical stability and tactile properties of the relaxed hair.
In addition, Luvigel FIT (INCI: Acrylates/C10-C30 Alkyl Methacrylate Copolymer) is a liquid thickener for clear and smooth hair-styling gels. The product is designed to make it easier for formulators to achieve high setting performance, due to its synergy effects with anionic and cationic polymers.
