The Lubrizol Corporation launched Carbopol Aqua SF-1 OS polymer (INCI: Acrylates Copolymer), a new acrylates copolymer grade targeting pigmented formulations used in skin care, sun care and color cosmetic applications. Carbopol Aqua SF-1 OS polymer works to help formulators achieve better emulsion stability and desired aesthetic properties in challenging systems containing pigments and electrolytes at levels required to deliver efficacy.

The polymer also enables cold processing and post addition to adjust final viscosity and stability during manufacturing, which offers the manufacturer the potential for an improved sustainability profile. It also has excellent rheology and suspension to meet formulating trends for sophisticated oil-in-water skin care, sun care or color cosmetic systems containing high levels of coated and uncoated pigments or particles. It works to offer a pleasant sensorial experience as well, and it is compliant with Chinese and Japanese regulatory requirements.
