Increasing Hypodermal Collagen in Skin Care

Posted: February 16, 2010

ESLI Proscience Research has launched an active designed to increase hypodermal collagen production. ESLI one (INCI: Not Provided) is a series of plant-derived ingredients that reportedly induces collagen I secretion in human dermal fibroblasts by up to 325%.

The company recommends the ingredient for antiaging skin care products, where it is said to improve skin elasticity and hydration. The company also announced it is interested in licensing the series.

In vitro tests were conducted using the series in 18 different formulations. Nine of the formulations increased collagen I expression by over 100%; five by over 150%; and one by 325%. The series is being marketing by the G4 Group.
