Researcher Synthesizes Human Elastin Precursor for Anti-aging Benefits

While researching a method to regrow fingers and tissues injured in war, and heal battlefield wounds with reduced scarring, Burt Ensley, PhD, developed a synthesized precursor to human elastin that can reduce facial wrinkles and sagging when applied topically.
Although many anti-aging products on the market claim to promote the production of collagen and elastin, few introduce an additional source of elastin. Following research on tissue regeneration and scar treatment, Ensley and his colleagues discovered a method of synthesizing human tropoelastin, a natural precursor to elastin, which they have patented as Elastatropin.
This synthesized precursor is bioavailable, compatible with human skin and integrates into the extracellular matrix. In addition, these proteins are not allergenic. Despite their source, they are natural and identical to the human material.
The elastin precursor has been formulated into a line of skin care products called Dermalastyl. In these products, Elastatropin is delivered to the epidermis by a complex chain of 600 amino acids in a patented molecular delivery system. Using this system, it moves inside the layers of skin, converts into elastin and integrates itself into the skin. By incorporating itself into the skin matrix, it restores skin’s youthful look and feel, delivering smoothness and elasticity to all types of skin and other flexible organs such as the lungs and arteries.
