Biography for Maurice Elphick, PhD

Maurice Elphick, PhD, is a professor of animal physiology and neuroscience at Queen Mary University of London, where his laboratory focuses on the discovery of bioactive peptides in echinoderms. Elphick grew up in the town of Eastbourne, U.K., where he first became interested in marine animals. He earned a bachelor of science degree in biology and a doctorate in neurobiology from Royal Holloway, which included a fellowship at the Whitney Marine Laboratory.
