Claudie Willemin graduated from École Supérieure de Chimie Organique et Minérale (E.S.C.O.M.) with a focus on the physico-chemistry approach to formulation. She has worked in the cosmetic field since 1991 and joined L’Oréal in 1999 as the sun care products development manager. Willemin is currently senior manager in skin care applied research in R&D. She previously worked for both Rhone-Poulenc and Rhodia 1977–1999.
Willemin was a member of the Sun Products Sub-Committee in Colipa from 2000–2003. She joined the Council of the French Society in 1996, in charge of the education program and since 1999, as vice president of science and technique for the education committee and scientific congress. She was elected as delegate for France to the IFSCC Praesidium in 2009, and president of Société Française de Cosmétologie in 2012.
