Sergio Nacht, PhD, is the co-founder and chief scientific officer of Riley-Nacht LLC Global Skin Ventures. Founded in 2002, it is a consulting, product development and international distribution company. Before joining the personal care industry, he received his doctorate in biological chemistry and served as an assistant professor at the University of Buenos Aires and a research professor in medicine at the University of Utah. In 1970, he joined Alza Corp. In 1973, he joined Richardson-Vicks Inc., now Procter & Gamble, as director of biomedical research for the personal care division. During that time, he was also a lecturer in the State University of New York’s dermatology division at the Downstate Medical Center. Nacht went to Advanced Polymer Systems in 1987, where he served as senior vice president of research and development. He then joined Enhanced Derm Technologies Inc., a Cardinal Health company, as senior vice president of dermatology and skin care. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, and has co-authored more than 50 scientific papers and book chapters and holds 16 US and international patents.
